DUST now officially runs on Linux
The game is now built natively for Linux: two official platforms — Windows and Linux, Steam Deck included.
In short
- A native Unity build for Linux — no Proton needed
- Works on Steam Deck too (desktop mode, then add it to Steam)
- The build is not fully optimised yet — frame drops are possible on weak hardware
Unity now builds natively for Linux, so DUST officially runs on two platforms — Windows and Linux, Steam Deck included. The game ran through Proton before, but a native build means proper support and its own launcher.
To be honest: the Linux build is not fully optimised yet, and frame drops are possible on weak hardware and on Steam Deck. We are working on it.
