RickLauncher 2.4.5.2 — beta with lightweight updates
The launcher now updates in pieces — a few megabytes instead of 200. Smarter Steam start, clear mod installs, hints in crash reports. A beta for testers.
- Launcher update — a few MB instead of 200; encyclopedia database — about 20 MB instead of 374
- Starts Steam by itself and says "Steam closed the game" instead of "crash"
- An archive with several mods — the launcher asks which ones to install and shows a summary
- New ready-made setups: Europe 1700 and The Old Realms
Share your mod setup — it will ship with RickLauncher
Ready-made setups in the launcher grow with the community: send yours, and after a check everyone will get it.
- In the launcher: "⋯" next to the profile → "Copy RLink module set"
- Paste it into the comments of the Telegram post with a short description
- After a check the setup ships in the launcher with the next release
RickEncyclopedia 1.0.3.7 — updates 20× lighter
The encyclopedia downloads only what changed — about 20 MB instead of 374. False mod requirements fixed. 11,525 mods in the database.
- Database update — about 20 MB instead of 374, resumes after a dropped connection
- Requirements no longer point at someone else's patch or translation — over 50 links fixed
- No more mods that "require themselves"; 18 translations became separate cards
- 11,525 mods: 5 new, 4 more now work on newer game versions
Crash Doctor 2.2.0.4 — six new protections
Six new crash protections, fixes for the mod's own bugs, and a Mods tab that recognises renamed mods. One install for Bannerlord 1.2 / 1.3.15 / 1.4.x.
- Six new protections: leaderless clan, siege deployment, settlement menu, missing townsperson, TOR unit without a culture, broken equipment set at campaign start
- Fixed rare crashes caused by the Doctor itself and the "destroyed parties came back" save repair
- The Mods tab understands renamed mods and stops asking for what is already there
- Under Linux/Proton it no longer offers Windows tweaks; report.txt hides user and PC names
DUST: developer diary №1 and the new Jackal car
The first issue of the DUST journal is out, and the game has a new starter car — the Jackal. Version 0.0.6.20: fair damage, smarter bots, wider arenas.
- The Jackal — the new starter car with the most part slots, buildable for any play style
- 0.0.6.20: the driver is thrown out only by a really hard hit; bots dodge obstacles and go for ammo
- Colosseum and Windmill Hill are a fifth wider; tunnels are no longer pitch black
- Early access: free for testers now; active testers will get a key
Crash breakdown: why it matters which launcher starts your game
TOR crashed when opening the inventory. Three hours of logs showed the game was started through Launcher.Native.exe — where many mods are untested.
- There are two launchers in the game folder; Launcher.Native.exe runs the game on .NET Core, where almost nobody tests mods
- Start through Steam, TaleWorlds.MountAndBlade.Launcher.exe or RickLauncher
- Do not send the report to TaleWorlds — sending deletes the crash files
- This case helped us find two bugs in Crash Doctor itself
DUST: two new maps and an early-access installer
Two new off-road maps — Dried Sea and Iron Bridge Canyon. An installer for early access is out.
- Dried Sea — from a sea of dunes to a river: soft sand, jumps along the ridges, a ford
- Iron Bridge Canyon — down into the canyon: five fords or a dry ledge and a bridge over the gorge
- Videos from both maps are on YouTube
- The early-access game installer is on Telegram
DUST now officially runs on Linux
The game is now built natively for Linux: two official platforms — Windows and Linux, Steam Deck included.
- A native Unity build for Linux — no Proton needed
- Works on Steam Deck too (desktop mode, then add it to Steam)
- The build is not fully optimised yet — frame drops are possible on weak hardware
Europe 1700: a musket fix and a ready setup for the launcher
In Europe 1700 troops only started hitting each other at twenty metres. The fix raises musket damage 4–5×, accuracy by 250 % and bullet range.
- Musket damage ×4–5, accuracy +250 %, longer bullet range
- Two variants: for all factions or for the Russian faction only
- A working Europe 1700 setup for RickLauncher, tested on 1.4.8
- A video of the result is on YouTube
RickLauncher 2.4.2 — a big reliability update
We checked the whole launcher and fixed everything we found: your mods and saves are safe, Cancel means cancel, downloads resume where they stopped.
- A damaged profiles file, an antivirus or OneDrive no longer lead to deleted data
- Cancel stops installs, updates and translations instead of reporting an error
- A broken download resumes where it stopped; a slow Nexus no longer stalls a setup
- Red only for what really stops the game; Esc and Enter work in every window
Calradia Journal № 2 — Realm of Thrones
A five-year-old mod beat them all: 32,823 downloads in eighteen days. Westeros is moving to 1.4.8 — we worked out how to move with it. 27 pages in five languages.
- Realm of Thrones: what it runs on, where its players are, what a file analysis on beta 1.5 found
- Nine Russian translations of one mod — and only one for the current version
- Guide: thirteen gigabytes without crashes; beta 1.5.3 — what breaks old mods
- 27 pages, PDF: RU, EN, TR, FR, 中文 — readable right in the launcher
RickEncyclopedia 1.0.3 — 11,399 mods in the database
Database of 21 September: +765 mods, dependencies read from downloaded archives, borrowed requirements and borrowed names removed, 1,513 mods found their own pages.
- +765 mods, 11,399 in total; dependencies are also read from downloaded archives
- Borrowed requirements removed: another mod's page no longer attributes anything to a mod
- 31 cards got their own names back, 1,513 mods from bundle pages found their own
- A "works on the selected version" filter, arrow-key navigation
RickLauncher 2.4.1 — the first update after 2.4.0
Six days of going through what you sent: mods no longer vanish from the list, Nexus updates pick the right file, the loading window shows up at once.
- A mod no longer disappears from the list when its author copied a game-expansion header
- Updating from Nexus takes the file that continues yours, not the newest one on the page
- No exact version available — the nearest one for your game is used
- Four new crash breakdowns, a guide and FAQ in six languages
Crash Doctor 2.1.0.0 — nine new protections
Nine new protections, an honest prevented-crash counter, dump analysis and our own extended stack in the report. One install for Bannerlord 1.2 / 1.3.15 / 1.4.x.
- Nine new protections — from a day change tripping on a previous campaign's item to an execution without an executioner on 1.5+
- Fixed our own bug on 1.2.10: the Doctor broke wage calculation and counted it as "prevented crashes"
- Report: our own extended stack and native crash analysis from the dump
- The Mods tab scans in the background and warns about problems before launch
Voices of Calradia 1.0.0.24 — War Sails fully voiced
Russian voiceover for Bannerlord: 833 lines, 2,028 files. The War Sails naval expansion — 455 of 455 lines — ships in the same mod.
- 833 lines, 2,028 files: lords' greetings, bandit threats, the whole story and the prologue
- War Sails fully voiced — 455 of 455 lines
- Voices split by culture, lip-sync recalculated for the length of Russian phrases
- Steam Workshop, Nexus, and GitHub for those without Steam
